• Household items. Take a short detour through a department store and a local grocery store. Cruise the aisles looking for your favorite products. Make a note of those you can’t find, as well as the type of appliances and the voltage; there are two types: 110V and 220V. Electrical outlets differ in many places, and although a universal adaptor for your computer and mobile phone are essential for travel, major appliances—even hair dryers—often won’t work effectively through them for long.
